Buy Me… Vanilla and risotto may sound like an unlikely combination, but trust and ye shall be rewarded: this indulgent pudding from The Serious Food Company is seriously delicious. This is the rice pudding your school dinner ladies never used to make; thick and creamy with a real hit of vanilla, it’s topped by scandalously good, sweet and sharp fruit compote. And like all Serious Food Company puddings, the dessert contains fresh ingredients and is free from additives. |

Brulee...
Serious Vanilla Crème Brulee Trio. Add a trio of indulgence to the dark evenings – and you can keep the lovely dish afterwards. These are the creamiest brulees we’ve ever tasted. Seriously! |

Seriously Tempting...
Go on, spoil yourself with a naughty but nice sweet treat.
For a different take on rice pudding, this rhubarb and strawberry compote is gorgeous – as good as any posh restaurant would serve. PS The Chocolate Mousse and Blackforest pots are worth trying too! |

No Trifling Matter... Oh no, the summer hols are nearly over and soon we’ll have to dig up the dahlias, unearth the games kit and (shriek) start wearing tights again. There’s only one thing for it: The Serious Food Company’s Champagne & Raspberry Trifle. Developed by Marco Pierre White’s former head pastry chef, this glass pot of Champagne jelly with raspberries, Genosse sponge, soft crème anglaise and whipped cream gets my vote. Just the thing to celebrate the final days of summer. Available from Waitrose. |

Bargain/Boutique... A top lazy dinner-party tip: puddings from the Serious Food Company. I tested the banoffee pie – exactly the right cream/toffee/banana balance. So good, no one believed I made them, though.
